Welcome to the Virtual Irrigation Academy shop

The Chameleon system is a way of showing the water, salt and nitrate status of the soil by colour patterns.  There are several aspects to the system in various stages of development as follows:

  1. Chameleon Field Reader
  2. Chameleon Soil Moisture Sensor Array
  3. FullStop Wetting Front Detector
  4. Electrodes for Salt monitoring inside a FullStop
  5. A Web-based Visualisation

We invite you to join our beta test program, by purchasing equipment below.

Our work is currently focussed upon smallholder irrigators in Developing Countries, funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR).  We are inviting all irrigators, from home gardeners to large-scale farmers, to join the beta program and help us with the on-going development of the Chameleon.
